The “Society” is that breath of fresh air that most aficionados have been searching for. The repertoire is deep and full of history, tradition, and diversity. The combination of talent, experience and a host of influences stemming from the seeds of John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Police, Rick James and a host of others gives this band their own unique sound and identity. To assign a genre-style to this group would be difficult considering the intermixture of music displayed. This group likes to use the simplistic description “Feel Good Music” to define exactly what it is that they offer....

Classically trained violist Wil B. and violinist Kev Marcus are back with their distinctive multi-genre sound that is perfectly described as “classical boom.” These superstar musicians tour the world with 200 performances a year and collaborate with the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean, and Alicia Keys, yet continue to focus on education outreach in all their endeavors. They perform for 100,000 students each year, which prompted NPR to predict that “their music will keep classical music alive for the next generation.” ...

This holiday mash-up for the whole family is back by popular demand! The Hip Hop Nutcracker reimagines Tchaikovsky’s classic score through explosive hip-hop choreography. A dozen all-star dancers, an on-stage DJ, and an electric violinist bring the traditional Nutcracker story to life in contemporary New York City. Special guest emcee Kurtis Blow charted the first rap gold record with “The Breaks” in 1980. Blow opens the show with a rapping introduction. The New York Times calls The Hip Hop Nutcracker, “A generous dose of contemporary spirit sure to heat up even the most restless and wintry of souls.” ...
